hello from the latest addition at imatters!   in the short time i’ve been here, i have learned a few key things about the pre-interviewing process.  time to share -

•  check your voicemail message!

picture this: your dream job opens up, and your dream employer thinks your resume is the best thing he or she has ever laid eyes on. giddy with excitement, your phone number is dialed, but your voice mail message is… a) muffled and incomprehensible, b) filled with your drunken friends in the background, or c) your best rendition of george costanza’s  famous voice mail song.  none of these options are good, obviously.  have personality, but remember, you want them to take you seriously.

•  check your social networking!

if your potential employer is technically savvy, you may very well get googled or worse, facebooked.  be prepared.  hopefully your facebook is already private, but watch that profile pic, and make sure you’re not showing too much skin – or booze.   also, if you tweet, keep it clean or keep it private.

•  check your email addy!

we all have our email address on our resumes, right?  if the only email you have declares your love for prince or wet t-shirt contests, get yourself an account somewhere with something a little more professional.  there are plenty of free options available. one more tip, make sure that if you have a smartphone, those emails are actually getting to your phone, so you can respond immediately.  you want to be available to your potential boss!

that’s it for now – keep smiling and we look forward to working with you!

one simple question to ask your staff to create maximum productivity http://imatters.net/2010/09/blog-post-title-here/ http://imatters.net/2010/09/blog-post-title-here/#comments Thu, 23 Sep 2010 22:41:27 +0000 commercialink http://imatters.net/2010/?p=71 by charisse toale, mba – senior recruiter

who knew that sleep habits make a difference in productivity?
satoshi kanazawa, a psychologist at the london school of economics and political science, replicated a study that evening people are smarter than morning people! yikes… so early bird physicians watch out!

could managing your practice be as simple as asking your employee, “when do you find yourself going to sleep?”…your iq increases over 45
points for going to bed 45 minutes later!  as practices continue to provide patient accessibility through evening hours…does it make great hiring sense to bring your most talented night owls in at 9 a.m.?

go forward with your future by visiting the past http://imatters.net/2010/09/lorem-ipsum-dolor-sit-amet/ http://imatters.net/2010/09/lorem-ipsum-dolor-sit-amet/#comments Thu, 23 Sep 2010 20:24:02 +0000 commercialink http://imatters.net/2010/?p=64

yes, we can learn from the past… that is not new.. the adage hindsight is 20/20 … lets harness that 20/20 to see your skills from the past and look to your future with ways to grow and be compensated for the knowledge of what you have learned!

here’s the skinny… super secret career boost… find a copy of your resume…. keep it in a folder, at the end of each month, add in your progress, skills learned, education received…when our annual review..90 day review or just your “how are you doing” review comes up.. pull up that tattered copy, with all these great updates.. revisit for your confidence booster, and also retype for your super administrator to visit your growth! on average those that do this, and show their progress, receive on average 3,000 dollars more per year.. use this as your long term retirement or to sip pina coladas on your next vacation..!
